There has been a munching....
.... and so it came to pass that the weaker of the two quinces detached and fell and became bird, wasp and slug food. Such was its destiny.
The remaining quince remains plump and ripening and tantalisingly out of reach. It is so beautiful, this one seems to have the most wonderful shape. I look up into the branches and whisper to the tree...
... there will be pruning....
