Tree Following - July 2022 - the Quince Count is go

We are now at the stage of starting the Quince Count for the year.  This is always an exciting time.  The withered quincelets have mainly dropped and the more likely quinces remain.  Remember as always the Quilt Count should be undertaken in the voice of The Count from Sesame Street.

Dear readers, I present:

Quince Minor - quince one
Quince Minor - quince two

and
Quince Minor - quince three, which in honesty I think is a dead quincelet that has just not fallen of its perch yet, but its still there so I'm counting it.

This year's Quince Count is consistent with this time last year, so I am hopeful it will result in at least 'a' quince reaching maturity.  I had hoped for more from Quince Minor this year, but hey, I am grateful for what I get.

Quince Major - quince one.

Yes, just the one and rather high up.  I am starting to worrying about Quince Major, he didn't do well last year and this year seems a repeat.  I wonder if it has been too dry for him, or is he too much in shade now?  There is a big tree in the boundary hedge that is overshadowing him a bit.

Worries, worries, yet there is no point in worrying as worrying never created a quince.

Time will tell how things progress on this year's count.....

There are more followed trees under the stewardship of Squirrelbasket here.

Take care and be kind.
