Did I mention I am a bit obsessed with peperomia at the moment? Did I mention that I am so obsessed that the unfurling of a new leaf on my Pilea peperomioides was enough to make me do a merry jig?
I love this little plant more than is reasonable. It seems much happier now I have placed it on the kitchen windowsill where it gets plenty of light but the sun does not shine on it directly.
You know you are looking too long at a plant when a cat (Flossy) comes to check what could possibly be more beautiful than she is. I expect to find it knocked 'accidentally' off the windowsill at some point.....
A new addition to the collection is this magnificent Peperomia polybotrya 'Raindrop'. It has the most glossy of leaves, they remind me of lily pads. It sits next to the peperomioides waggling its leaves provocatively. The peperomioides mutters under its breath 'size isn't everthing.....'
When I published my previous post on these plants Lauren kindly commented that Etsy was a good place to look for plants. Well that was a dangerous thing to do. I looked, I found, I purchased....
These are rooted leaf cuttings of Peperomia caperata 'Rosso'. They arrived healthy with good roots and I quickly potted them up. They have had a couple of days now to settle in and they seem fine. I am very happy with them.
Are there any more in transit...... well I couldn't possibly comment......
