Product Review: The Growable Calendar

I quite often get sent information on new products and initiatives and I like to be able to support ones that genuinely grasp my attention and I think may be of interest to my readers. This Growable Calendar is one such project. I have not paid for the calendar and my words and opinions are my own. The Growable Calendar is, well, exactly what it says it is. A calendar that includes pages of organic seeds you can plant at the right time and with advice so that you can be successful. It is also beautifully illustrated. Plus it is not a named for a particular year calendar, so you could start using it in July and keep using it until June next year. This makes it very practical. The makers tell me that the calendar was first launched in 2018 and it was the first on the market with plantable seed paper. Book Review: Rewild your garden by Frances Tophill

Regular readers will know that I have what I call 'The Wild Garden' at the top of my garden. It is about a quarter of the garden space in total and I have always been very glad to have made the decision to let it grow as it pleases. I mow paths through it, I do control some of the taller nettles but generally it does what it likes. When I was asked if I wanted to review Rewild Your Garden by Frances Tophill I said yes immediately. It is definitely something I am very interested in. I have to be clear I have not paid for this book, but I have not been paid to write this review, no one is approving the content and my words and opinions remain, as ever, my own. This is a fantastic book. It is not huge but also not small. It is a good size to pick up and put down easily. It is also packed full of information. I was very kindly given the opportunity to try the new Naturalistic Garden Design course by Dan Pearson which is part of the portfolio of online courses run by the Create Academy. I am not sure that a course written and presented by Dan Pearson needs a hard sell in all honesty, you had me at Dan Pearson as the saying goes.... Dan Pearson is an award winning garden designer known for his expertise and skills with naturalistic planting. Dan has been designing gardens since 1987 and is also known for his regular column writing in The Observer and several best selling books. This course is a cut above the norm.
