Tree following - October 2025

Here we are in October and I would say things were hotting up in the quince world, but in reality they are mellowing and ripening, and this is good.  Anyhoo - first things first - the quince count (in the voice of the Sesame Street Count).

Quince Minor - Quince 1
Quince 2
Quince 3
Quince 4

and, trigger warning,
Quince 5 has seen better days, I think it fair to say Quince 5 is dead, has passed, is no more.

Four quinces though is still a fabulous total and I am beyond chuffed.  Not only do they look (mainly) plump and fabulous they are now exuding their wonderful scent.  Before I achieved quincehood I had been told they had wonderful scent.  Whilst I thought that sniffing quinces might be an odd thing to do, once sniffed you know that you have to sniff again, and again.  Ok they do need eating at some point, but the pre-eating sniffing is important.

In other news I predict apple and quince crumble - soon.

Until next time:

Take care and be kind.
