It's a tantalising pass-time, isn't it, fruit-tree-watching - I planted various apples, plum and damson a couple of years ago. We have had a few apples, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a plum or two this year. I'm taking part in Loose and Leafy's Tree Following as well - I'm following a Common Alder. Despite the unexciting name, they have all sorts of uses (and weird folklore!)
