I do like to have evergreens in my garden, but not so many that it becomes static. I really like the comparative bareness of the winter garden, the silhouettes of bare trees and seedheads. I like the fact that most winter flowering plants have quite subtle and delicate flowers, and I ratehr dislike the brightly coloured primroses you get, I don't actually want anything brightly coloured at this time of year, in fact I don't even really want daffodils blooming until March! So no, winter is not ugly, just wonderfully different.Janet/Plantaliscioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15605580157193047780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-574800003825292845.post-76473107861564589342014-02-04T19:46:31.030+00:002014-02-04T19:46:31.030+00:00No, winter is certainly not ugly, but you must hav...No, winter is certainly not ugly, but you must have an eye for the beautiful things to discover in the garden and nature generally.Janneke https://www.blogger.com/profile/11056916431881916066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-574800003825292845.post-79313922557920472452014-02-04T09:39:43.189+00:002014-02-04T09:39:43.189+00:00One has to adjust their standard of 'beauty...One has to adjust their standard of 'beauty' depending on the season, and has to appreciate beauty in winter too.
